The Myers Theater was built in 1870 as the Myers Opera House. It started showing movies around 1929. In 1977 the Myers Theater was demolished and replaced with a bank. The history page for this theater gives Milwaukee Avenue and South Parker Drive as its location. Description: 1970 photo of The Myers Theater' back wall as seen from South Parker Drive. The former Myers Opera House became a movie theater in 1929, the same year that the second floor of the building had been acquired by the Elks Club for use as a clubhouse. The Elks' private entrance sign is visible in this photo. In 1977, the Rock County National Bank purchased the opera house in order to demolish it for a drive-up banking facility and parking lot.
