It does not work. I've been looking for an inexpensive way to salvage my 35mm slides from cardboard box oblivion. I found Ion's Slides 2 PC product on Amazon, where I could use my American Express points and get it "for free". The product notes say it works with Vista/XP using the USB port. The problem is that all the controls for this product are software driven and this software will not install on a Linux system, even with Wine. Apparently Wine still has a problem with assigning the USB port. Currently there are only two potential applications that I wish to use Wine for and both require a USB connection, my Samsung phone and this Ion Slides to PC. Fortunately there is are a couple of Windoze boxes in the house. I've installed the software on one of them and it works fine. Hopefully soon, if time permits, scenes from the Sierras circa 70's can be found here.
