26 Sept SLC and companions departed Jericho, 2:00 a.m., visited the Jordan River and the Dead Sea, camping that night at Mar Saba.  

27 Sept SLC and companions departed Mar Saba, 3:00 a.m., visited Bethlehem and returned to Jerusalem at noon.

I don't know just where Twain was along the Jordan River nor where along the banks of the Dead Sea.
