Ian Strathcarron, in Innocence and War, notes that current day scholars may not accept the location in the Church of the Holy Sepulcher as Golgotha, the site where Jesus was crucified. Rather the Garden of the Tomb, just beyond Jerusalem's walls near the Damascus Gate he notes as the most likely location.
